I'm thinking of buying some gold coins maybe bars over the next year, maybe pre owned silver... Rightly or wrongly.....missed the boat etc...

Using my Virgin Credit card, I can't see anything in the TandC regarding this type of investment and Virgin Points compared with using a virgin credit card for other investments which are clearly named.

ill be paying it off same day.

Anyone have actual experience?

Some bullion places won't take credit card, Atkinsons and Chards I think do.

Not had any experience of refusals, all transactions have gone through ok but they've been quite infrequent/adhoc over the years.

Sorry I wasn't clear, cards are ok, no problem using them where I going.

But will I get Points?

i have read some things around other banks classing gold purchases as Cash advances, and naming precious metals in the tandc, can't see anything from Virgin.

Not a deal breaker regards the purchase, just how I purchase.

Please, please, please stick with bullion coins.

We are having to try to shift over 300 coins at the moment, all stuff which cost a fortune, old/ proofs/ limited editions, and they are worth 1/10th of what was paid frown

£350.00 for a Silver proof 50p banghead worth around £8.00
£1000.00 for a Proof in a slab Gothic Crown Portrait 2oz coin, worth around £65.00 spot price, it has been up for sale for a week, dealers have them for sale between £1100.00 to £400.00, but try and sell one, it is spot price!!!!

The list goes on and on frown

Wow that is shocking, a harsh mix of naivety and marketing/sales skulduggery?

Such a shame the buyers didn't just get hundreds of 1oz Silver Brittanias instead, but to be fair sources of any precious metals aren't widely known, so it's easier to see how they hoodwink folks.
