I'm looking to get a new PS5 digital slim and can't help seeing there are a lot advertised on Ebay for £50 plus less than I might pay from a "proper" retailer. This all seems a bit too good to be true, so what's the catch? Given Ebays buyer protection is there much risk having a punt on one?

Another alternative with a chunky saving is Amazon Marketplace, "used - like new" fulfilled by Amazon. Again the buyer protection seems quite good. These ones seem to be new consoles looking at the reviews.

I used to work at Amazon, don’t look at the used stuff.

EBay has always been fine for me and has decent buyer protection.

We’re only 8 weeks or so out from Black Friday deals though, so you may as well wait now. They were on bargain deals last year.

What sort of price do they get down to on Black Friday?

Can’t remember exactly but I think they hit £329 last year.
