I don't think so.

Headlamps & rear spoiler look wrong and as far as I'm aware 959s did not have sunroofs.
Also is that RHD? All(?) 959s that the factory produced were LHD.
Therefor it's probably a modifed 911.

That's the giveaway. Plus the fact that a genuine 959 was still a half million pound car pre crash so seems an unlikely item for these guys to stock

Real 959s were never worth half a million quid in 1993. They cost about £145k when new in 1987. The collectors car investment bubble burst in 1990, so they would have been a tough sell as a technically complex 5 or 6 year old LHD car in 1993. I am pretty sure you could buy one for 5 figures.
