Please don’t hunt me down but i have just picked up my new Dacia Spring, to replace my mx5!

We need a second car for just incase contingencies and majority of the time it would have 3 or less people in it, one adult and 2 kids 11 & 14 as otherwise we would have the bigger car to use.

Got it as a lease for £1463 initial payment and fees and the. £121 per month for 5000 miles which will be plenty and the insurance is a little over £300.

Not yet got a charger but that is being fitted on Thursday (Hypervolt 3 pro) and we have Solar Panels so hoping that we can charge just using the excess the panels are producing most days.

Is it perfect, no
Is it cramped, yes
Is it cheap, yes
Is it fun, yes

Well we have it for 3 years so lets see how it goes!

Following this.

Been looking at these for the past 6 months to replace my ever more unreliable and expensive to run 2nd car abarth 500, planning to try one out.

One question, is a home charger essential? I thought these can be charged on a standard 3 pin plug- don't mind if it's slow to charge, it'd be overnight on driveway, prob once a week.

Other than being cramped, vague steering and awful tyres, I thought it was a brilliant car, really enjoyed my test drive

The tyres suspend the car but don’t offer much grip, wet conditions may be fun!

I would say with only a 27kwh battery a charger probably isn’t too necessary. We are getting another electric car by the end of the year so may as well get the charger now.

As the ford puma EV is available for similar monthly payments with no big deposit, would it not end up being a cheaper and better car to lease?

For me? Probably, but I don't need a car as big as the puma as a 2nd and I imagine the deal is gone now based in how good it was. Also I'm not ready to pull the pin yet.

I did try and sell the Puma to the Mrs as a replacement for the family car, which needs replacing this year or early next, but she is determined she doesn't want to go full EV yet!

Just wish they wouldn't put that silly wrap on the bumper

When I looked at the Puma it was an extra £45, whilst not a huge amount to say how much it will be used and what it will be used for it wasn’t worth the £45 sat on my driveway. The car will do probably 100 miles a month if that.

You can currently get the puma for 24 months for £139 a month with no deposit so would be cheaper.

Did a 30 mile round trip in it today. Was perfectly comfortable and pretty relaxing.

Nice and spritely up to about 40, and returned 5.2 mpkwh which i never see in my Enyaq.

Crikey me. That’s crazy considering the outright cost of new cars.
