Salon Prive 2025
Discussion
For me, Salon Prive had always been a bucket list item on my automotive bucket list. I have been really lucky and been to and displayed the Sagaris in some amazing places - NEC for Pistonheads, Honorable Artillery Company for London Concours, but I had been given the chance to display the car in one of the car parks - I was all in. Goosebumps. It was really happening.
Then Friday evening, I received a call. Did I want to enter the car in the club concours and have it judged? Do I ever! As it was so late, and a full day packed (plus currently having to use a walking stick most of the time), it wasn’t perfect. Plus it rained overnight and I live on country roads…. Don’t care. Lick it and send it, like a certain F1 driver opinioned.
The day dawned as changeable as predicted. Getting into position meant driving over mud. Sod it. Don’t care.
Parked up, slightly cleaned and there I am in front of Bleinham Palace. I am surrounded by probably billions of pounds of cars. Jaw dropping.
Richard Hammond was one of the judges - I have to admit, I was massively impressed. Good eye - he picked out every flaw. Then the rain came and another cleaning session started. I said hello to some lovely TVR owners (thanks for the chat chaps) and enjoyed the surroundings.
After lunch we were all called up on stage and presented to the crowd. Utterly surreal. But the car in front of me and I are pulled to one side and driven through the compound again. Then told to wait.
No. No. It can’t be.

It was. The Sagaris won the ‘best multi-marque club car’. I was a gibbering loon.

A few days later, I still can’t process it. Even better, Dom from TVR Power said hello - a real pleasure to finally meet you! Next year might be interesting….
