The ‘dealer’ selling this is useless, doesn’t genuinely know what he says from one day to the next and I’m not convinced that he isn’t fifteen but… it’s a good spec car, has good service history (needs a major service this year) and has had a previous owner of five years. I’m having it inspected by the team that look after all my other cars, they are meticulous so… what do you think? Where is the catch?

And yes I know this car was the car in the now deleted YouTube prank on the M25…

Get it inspected and mclaren serviced as part of the purchase?
The shouty advert in capital letters puts me off a bit though!

Had £30k spent "recently" and is still due a service?

You might want a good look at those invoices.

Quite likely there is no catch.
McLarens are a bit unique in their construction, and for that reason I have all my PPI's and maintenance done at Thorney who know them inside out. Based on my three years experience I'd recommend that precaution.
12C is a tremendous car, another level

He doesn’t have any ramps, doesn’t have access to any, but… I could send someone to inspect it anyway…or would transport it to me for a non refundable £1000 to his personal account. I asked for some simple things in writing, like who owns it, and I was told firstly that he bought it, then we bought it, then it was in trade. I called him out. He had taken it in as a PX against a GWagon, as he worked for a LHD specialist, then the owner actually wanted an X5, then the owner was a friend… honestly one of the most unconvincing discussions I have ever entered into. I was told that as per the advert all cars got a three month warranty, Until you negotiate on price.. and then no warranty applies..I did some digging, the dealer doesn’t exist, he uses the same address as another dealer with a similar name but no premises. From being a premier LHD trader it turns out that he is an eBay seller with a few mismatched cars for sale…whether or not this is a good car or not now is almost irrelevant, confidence blown so I bought the Pearl White car at HWM. A completely different experience.

Hold on! I've only just paid for it. Waiting for the HWM to confirm service and prep done!

You’ll have no problems with HWM. I bought a DB11 from them and they were an absolute pleasure to deal with (I’m sure the sports section is as good as the AM dealership but just a bit less glamorous inside!
