So, did the deed and purchased a great condition Zoe.

Not sure on which wall charger yet so trying to survive with public chargers etc - quite a learning curve!

Mrs C-J might be able to charge occasionally at work - just plug in, no Apps etc. From the car screen we had set up a 2.5 hour programme - it started fine so all looking good good. However when she checked back after 3 hours... it was still charging away.

How/why would it start ok, and accept power ok - but not stop? Within that programme selection we activated all 7 days (as I read that sometimes missing days upset it)

Wall charger was a ROLEC white and green thing - like the untethered unit in this link. https://www.spiritenergy.co.uk/kb-ev-charging-role...

Any thoughts on why it didn't stop? And more importantly how to ensure in future that it does? A software update prompt came up before I left the dealer - so that has just been updated. Athough tbh I have no idea what aspect of software and what that even means!

Not used the My Renault App yet - or sure whether/how it works. But surely this should be a simple simulation for the car to control via just it's timer.

I seem to remember you set start and end times, not start time and duration. Tried looking for pictures to remind myself how it was done but I don't remember having any problems myself. Wonder if there is an on/off button the the schedule that you missed, to allow the Zoe to be plugged in to public AC chargers without having to redo settings. I know I did once use am 11kW or 22kW charger at a service station for a while as the DC ones were not free.

Thanks for your recollections.

Yes, in Program menu, under the 3rd menu option (Immediate/postponed/PROGRAM) there is the:
-start time
-end time
-end time tick box

All 3 completed.
The timer standby clock icon lit up green.
It started fine, it just didn't end. Which is troublesome if we can't rely on it to stop.

I didn't see any other options to select - and as it started ok we hoped that would be fine. Alas not.
Workplace charger so can't guarantee to be able to be there to check and stop.

I don't remember ever having a problem. Might be worth rebooting the nav/media system in case it is an in-memory issue.

cheers - good suggestion re retained history.

Checking the manual quickly, by reboot, is that just a long hold of the multimedia on/off button until it restarts?

Again sounds about right - had to do it a few times in the mid days of mine - one firmware upgrade made the nav system less reliable, but then the next fixed things again.
