As a 'now or never' thing, this guy decided he'd try to go to every 2025 F1 race. He's using his 28 days annual leave from his job, and £20k savings. There have been some remote work days and some WFH Mondays, but he might just do it.

Why would you regret it? Brilliant experience surely and if he is doing it F1 must be a big passion for him. Fair play to him I say life is short

I would have loved to do this but back when I had the time I had no money, and now I’ve got the money I’ve got no time laugh

Struggle to get to one race a season these days!

Hats off to him but with only 28 days leave, that will pretty much only allow him to do race days. With some countries, that wouldn’t be an issue to me but for the majority, I’d like to take in some of the culture and also the full race weekend. Can’t have it all I suppose.

With the prices of F1 events these days, I decided to only do WEC and BTCC.

Precisely. I spent a lot of my spare cash going to F1 races in the early 2000’s. I had no responsibilities and I was passionate about the sport. I still look back fondly on my memories. Yes I could have been more sensible with my money but I was fortunate to be able to experience F1 in its most visceral era at legendary tracks. I only regret I couldn’t go to more!

Really struggle to see how that is doable for £20k.

I've been watching him from the planning stages and it's really cool to see how's he's doing. Also some teams and people have offered him some cool experiences. I'm not too sure hot monetisation of platforms works but can easily see the £20k being covered.

I agree. Whenever I go to F1 races, I like to make a proper trip of it. I use the races as an excuse ro go somewhere I haven't been before, arrive at least five days before the race weekend, take in the location and culture, and cap it off with an F1 race weekend. Additionally, I think I'd get a bit fed up with all the travelling. Two races a year is fine for me.

Yes, I read it, impossible to believe it's a real 20k. Vegas alone must be 3k from the UK absolute barest bones eating out of rubbish bins.

Balance that with going to most of the European races on a cheap flight, train or bus and a £200 GA ticket.

lol, Mexico, Brazil, Japan, China, Miami,Texas.... anyhow a great adventure, however unlikely the money side of it is.

Fair play to him, I would have thought time would have been as much of a challenge as money with how far flung a lot of the season is now.

He could have vlogged the whole thing from the beginning and made some money back (or all of it) with social media (Youtube/Instagram) maybe.

Sort of thing I'd always thought I'd do if I won the lottery. I'd probably do the MotoGP season first.

Sounds like a fun challenge, but can’t help thinking the logistics and budget are a little tight. Most of Europe you can do with a tent and £200 GA tickets, but the flyaways start to get really expensive really quickly. There’s tickets like Miami and Vegas that are almost impossible to get at face value, and some of the logistics are so bad that the teams charter planes to move their people around.

I’d much rather copy that African dude from a couple of years ago, who sold his business and did a year-long retirement party following F1 in style with his wife - Paddock Club tickets, biz class flying, 5* hotels etc. I think he said they spent something like $500k each.

Let’s face it, how many of us (on a motorsport forum) wish we’d been to fewer F1 races in our lifetime?

I can easily imagine sitting in a rented house at 65 thinking "wish i used it as a house deposit" or something similar.
It depends whether £20k is his entire life savings or just a bit of spare cash

It’s £20k. Not a couple of million FFS.
