While living overseas last year, I found a group called a men’s circle, a weekly meet of 5-20 men from teens to mid 50s. The group met for over 2hrs each week and each person had their time to talk about whatever they were feeling - some shared amazing happy experiences , some shared deeply emotional experiences. Some just listened and gave their feedback on others shares.

I loved attending this group, it helped me with my life and gave me different perspectives on many things. Plus it’s a great way of connecting with people and making new friends.

I’m looking for a similar thing in the UK. Currently I can find either religious groups, or groups for people with addiction or who are suicidal, neither of which I struggle or identify with.

Anyone here experienced a group like the one I experienced, or would be interested in one?

We have one in Milton Keynes called "The Man Cave UK".

I've not been (did consider it for the social side) but a chap I know goes, They had an evening out at RBR recently amongst other stuff. I think they have meetings in MK, Towcester, Bedford and Northampton.

Plenty of options in my bit of Worcestershire.

A quick google should find something similar, and if there isn’t, start one?

A number local to me, too. Would be helpful to know a rough location for you.

We have a good one at the local cricket club. They get a guest speaker in, to talk about something, and then the beginning and end is for others to chat amongst themselves. A great place to 'unload' and let off steam. You can put in as much or as little as you like. This is Somerset.

My mum died recently, and we have been trying to get my stepdad to get involved in the local branch of this, it ought to be right up his street, but he's not biting.

He should be able to go along for a 10 minute meet-n-greet.

You have literally described Andy's Man Club. They're all over the UK, Monday 19:00-21:00.

You don't have to say anything, you don't need to justify why you're there, there's not some notion of "must have attempted suicide to be allowed in" or anything, it's about men being able to talk, it doesn't have to be about suicide.
