New Cayenne 21” or 22” wheels

Looking at Cayennes (with air suspension) to replace the better half’s Macan and would like some advice on wheels.

Do the 22” affect the ride too much? They obviously look far better but real world experience would be much appreciated.

The roads round me are a complete joke so worried about punctures too.

I think you’ve answered your own question…bigger sidewalls are your friend if you’ve got bad roads. They will ride slightly better too. I’ve got an older Cayenne and have winter wheels which are smaller than my summer wheels and tyres. Can definitely feel he difference.

We test drove a cayenne coupe ehybrid with 22” wheels and ended up purchasing a car with 21” wheels and air suspension - we also live in an area with poor roads. It was the right decision for us

I have Cayenne S E-Hybrid 2024 with 22" wheels and air suspension. Ride is great on atrocious UK roads. Wheels have had standard tyres and also because I lived in Germany full N Continental winter snow flake tyres which I have left on. Even when I set air to low it still is smooth. My other car is a 2023 911 4 GTS Cab (delete -10mm SPASM) so I see both sides of the Porsche coin. As a side at 160mph in Germany the Cayenne used to feel safer and less stressful than the 911!

Thanks folks, spec locks today and we’ve gone with 21”s. Very impressed after a test drive, really lovely car to be in and the additional sidewall will help.

Cheaper tyres too which is a bonus.

The aforementioned 4 x 22" NO Continental snow flake tyres were 1850 Euros (incl DEU 19% vat) fitted from DEU independent tyre fitter. Porsche DEU OPC wanted 2450 Euro!

Well we changed to 22 at the last minute..I got overruled by the war office.

Should keep her happy though..

I’ve had a lot of trouble finding N rated tires for my Cayenne on 22s. You also don’t get much choice, I wish I had 21s.
Also don’t expect to get many miles from them!

Don’t tell me that, I wanted the 21’s! During the test drive at the OPC she spotted a Turbo and liked the wheels and I kid you not noticed they went further up her leg.

This from a woman who claims to have no interest in cars..

I really don’t see why you would need to improve the ride at all.

Cayenne Turbo S hybrid on 22's here - and on Corsas... Ride is fine, obviously on the 21" winters it's a bit softer, but no issue at all. Handles better on the 22's, and that is in Sport. I'm very sensitive to ride quality, and held out for a 992 Turbo S without the -10mm as I felt it was way too harsh and unnecessary..

Great thanks for that, I have a Turbo S too so that’s great to hear!
