I have to say I hate to see perfectly good cars cut up and turned into things like this, it seems such a waste.
Fair play if you’re into drifting and you find a damaged car to work on, but it’s not my cup of tea that’s for sure.
A good clean standard car or slightly modified is the way to go for me.

I have a feeling that this is a car that was on copart a few years ago. A silver ls2 vxr with low miles that had light front end damage on the driver's side but was unrecorded. Bumper and headlight were a mess, bonnet was damaged and so was the wing. That would explain how it's ended up with a Pontiac GTO bumper, VZ headlights and that new bonnet. It also looks like the very end of the wing might have been straightened out if you compare it to the other side. The gap in MOTs supports this theory.
I bid on it when I was looking for my monaro but it went higher than the 8k I was willing to pay.

That price works out about £20k in the UK. I have seen a couple of rough Monaro’s around the £8k mark but I wouldn’t even consider rebuilding one of those. You can also get an LS1 with a T56 from a scrap yard for about 6k.I was wondering what enthusiasts in Australia are driving today? Surely Monaro’s, Commodores, and Falcons are either locked away or trashed by now ?

Young Australians as a rule will buy a massive 4WD (Landcruiser or similar) or a "ute" (most pointless vehicle ever created) or go the combo; a lifted 4x4 crew cab ute!
When I bought my Monaro in 2009 I had to buy it in Sydney and ship it across, all those for sale in Perth were auto!!
I'll never forget that the last HSV LS2 coupes were sold here for well over $100K new, while being shipped to England, fitted with a supercharger, and sold as VXR500 for £27K!
Those Australian prices are crazy, you lot must get paid too much
When the CV8 came to the uk in 04, they were listed at £29k the VXR was £35k.
In 05 the price went up by 1k for each model.
The VXR 500 which was fitted with a blower was actually 1k LESS than a VXR.
The actual price paid was in most cases probably less, I don’t think that there was a premium on either car.
My car a VZ Monaro had 6000 miles on the clock and had been registered 11 months previously by Vauxhall, it cost me 18k in 07.
Looking at the state of the car market in the UK there isn’t anything that I really like other than a Mustang and they range from 65k up.
I think I’ll keep my Monaro.
