Anyone here have real ownership experience? I’m thinking of replacing my Taycan. I’m not worried about the weight since I have other cars for driving enrolment. I love the idea of a V8 with some electric range for city driving so I’m between the M5 and the Panamera. Most reviews say the M5 as it’s more dynamic and less dull. Would appreciate feedback from actual owners.
Picked mine up back end of June. I wanted another V8 (was in a X6 M50i) but was tired of the 3 fill ups per month.
Does exactly what I need it to do. Elec mode for around town short journeys, petrol for longer distances and a V8+717bhp for when you want to open it up.
It's running over 40mpg since new with about 1,100 miles on it now.
Great performance and dynamics, people moan about weight but unless you're tracking it you don't notice that on the road.
A lot of hate for this when it first came out but that seems to have all went quiet.

I'm 1 week into G99 ownership, and it is a fantastic car.
Added the akrapovic system at the dealership to retain the warranty but give it a voice which i think is well wort it.
Was concerned by the, at best, luke warm reception it received but test drive won me over and makes a great all rounder.

Just had my F90 M5 picked up today and my G99 will be arriving sometime in Oct. (am away for work the whole of September). Will miss the old one but looking forward to the cake and eat it with the Hybrid option
Interested to hear more about Akrapovic (pun intended) and how it does not invalidate the warranty having it installed at a dealership? does it affect having a towbar?

I get the practicality, performance and dynamic considerations (my M2 daily is gone and my new M3 Touring is due at the dealer next month), but saving a few minutes filling the tank a month and a few £ on fuel I just don't get as justification when depreciation is likely biblical.Does exactly what I need it to do. I think the Akrapovic is what's sold through the dealerships branded as the M Performance exhaust. No idea if it affects having a towbar.Edited by gizard on Friday 29th August 19:15

No one knows quiet yet what depreciation will be and depending on how you finance it, it might not be your problem anyway.gizard said:

Dang, Oct..... I'm teetering on the edge of ordering one. Coming from a F90 Comp Looking at a G99, I'm concerned they will feel so different. Admittedly though I've not test drove one yet..... Although I didn't test drive the F90 either
