Hello all ..

I am the new owner of this 96 Cerbera , will post pics later ,but its in a sorry state , been sat for 13 plus years outside.
Did get ECU fired up on the bench today so thats promising.

Its missing a few bits , looks like it got used to a "pay paul, by robbing peter"
It came off road 13 years ago for a failed clutch

anyway ..im just excited i have a Cerb , been wanting want for MANY years ... but could not afford it .. i still cant lol ...

No 22 on the list
https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=71...

4.2 in Rosso Pearl, the best sort... but then I might be biased.

Note you can't get that anymore, but LandRover Firenza red is the same colour (well to the original, not faded)

Whereabouts are you in the country? Also plenty of advice here if needed, so congrats on saving one

Welcome Matt,

You must be near me so feel free to give me a shout if you want to look at anything on mine (99 4.5).

Obviously, no nicking parts!! hehe

And if you start to lose enthusiasm, just give me a shout and I'll take you out for a blast - that will help!! driving

Cheers

Ok I made a giant light up sign , will be going on garage wall soon .. been busy with other stuff last week or so , attempted to get engine running but to many electrical gremlins for now ( MBE fired up and i was able to talk to it using diag software so thats a plus)

Think i got bad earths as i was getting low voltage at coil packs , and pump not working anyway i decided i cant spend more time at moment trying to get it running , we know it has to come apart and body off so that's next

I plan to do allot myself , even painting LOL , i have this idea of getting body off ,and trying to paint it before weather turns smile then i can wrap it up and over winter work on chassis ... lets see my plans always change

Day 1 of removing body. Was a long day. Not there yet. Got fuel tank out. Got most of body bolts. Just got under dash bolts. And seat belt points on tunnel. They need a nut welding to as they to far gone / rusted.

Sweated alot

I sat watching it with a beer this afternoon. Seems like the early 96 version I have does not have two bolts through the boot floor. So that's two less for me ! lol

Just disconnected the cable, it was fine.

The bolts in the boot and behind the dash weren’t too bad, ones through the seatbelt anchors were a pain in the ass and the ones for the roll hoop bases were beyond fked. Lots of heat and most of them came off ok, had to cut a few off though.

Yeah 100%, cutting was fine for vertical bolts.

Be lost without this stuff!

Ok a few more evenings have passed , all bolts out. Seatbelt ones where a sod. Had to do a little mod to the floor so I could get socket onto them. Now front of body seems to lift easy. Rear still not wanting to move much. So left it for a day. Defo don't want rush lifting lol pretty sure I got all the bolts. Maybe sealent. Maybe body just tight on somthing.

Well done.

Did you get the ones behind the seats into the frame thing that bolts into the chassis? They were a bugger to find for me.

My body caught on the tabs and captives on the outside edge of the outriggers, took me ages to figure out why it wouldn’t release hehe

yea got the ones behind rear seats ( near rear seat belt reals) that was a fun job , something been living there !

yea feel it might be caught on the outer seatbelt points , they even look like they angle out slightly which would not help .. fibreglass makes allot of horrible noises ! lol

Ps , how did you disconnect your handbrake , i got a little issue that i still have engine in and exhaust lol and no ramp .. tried a couple of times to remove centre console , but end up finding another bolt in dash that i start swearing at and give up ...
