992 GT3 RS Order
Discussion
Howdy - As any self respecting Porsche nut knows, we are in funny times…. But good times for the driven enthusiast hoping to at last get their paws on a GT car without all the associated nonsense and cost implications..
There are now over 50 x 992 RS for sale with few finding new homes. This, with the possibility of a new late allocation batch pending - again all good news if you actually want one…
I also keep hearing of folk with orders in getting cold feet and cancelling - unheard of a short time ago..
Well, I know of an old die hard Porsche nut job, who’s looking for one. Not worried about losses let alone overs !!
If anyone here knows of somebody who wants out - or an OPC needing to find another valued customer to fill a slot, please let me know

If you want a new car at list they are probably an interesting buy ... particularly to your own spec.
I guess the challenge is that the 991.2 GT3RS was a more classic shape with plenty to recommend it and much less expensive to insure, tax, own and use for it's designed purpose ...
For a good driver the 992 GT3RS is much faster so long as the driver keeps it on the black stuff ... but I have yet to meet anybody who said that the 991.2 GT3RS wasn't fast enough .... and when they did they were probably looking for a Mclaren or similar ... hence there are a lot of 992.1 GT3RS for sale.
That and they made a lot of them ... in '23 and '24 in the UK there were around 470 registered by comparison to 390 GT4RS (of which there were 65 in '22) ... how many now ??

470 registered 23/24 with what, another load in year 25 - there could be 600 x 992 RS in the UK. A staggering amount, especially In comparison with previous RS incarnations

production stops October'ish for the 992.1 RS
buyers will miss the point if its a trophy car that is used for road use.
if going on track and having and adrenalin rush is the motive, then very few cars come close. the RS is just on another level of setting the bar on track.
from nannying to allowing the rear to slip and slide.
if there is a 992.2 RS it will be the 3.6/3.8 turbo similar to the current GTS.
this is the last NA RS...

Judging what’s for sale currently (and not selling) not sure there would be many takers, but a few OPCs have said that they are waiting to hear imminently, if another batch/allocation will be available…
The market just doesn’t add up right now. The trade suggests that they are well behind list price at the moment. Most, if not all, are still positioned well above list…. ??
Something’s gotta give …

Maybe time for a nice tax break for track days and GT cars from Rachel , we deserve it . Then again interesting that 1 in 4 cars bought new in the UK are for Mutability . Maybe get the PIP guys into track days
With her latest idea on property tax ( think CGT on principal house ) sadly it might go the other way with a new tax on wasting assets like cars ?Don’t worry neither will happen as she needs money now not based on future numbers but Jonny you need to crack on quickly just in case !

One of my pals pulled out recently but the OPC found another person for the order!
My personal opinion is that people are changing their minds so you might just get lucky!
I think people aren't changing their minds -- they didn't want the car when they ordered it and they still don't want the car. All they wanted was the £100k overs they expected by buying a car they didn't want to sell to someone who wasn't allowed to buy one but wanted it badly enough to pay £100k extra. My personal opinion is that people are changing their minds so you might just get lucky!
It's beautiful to see now that those of us who genuinely want a GT car (wanted in my case) can actually buy one.
It's a shame this situation didn't exist when I was hot-to-trot on a 991.2 GT3 Manual back in 2017 and despite being a very long term GT2 owner, the OPC I'd used for 1.5 decades religiously wouldn't sell me one to keep.

I think you hit the nail on the head there! The OPC’s are still doing their best to drive prices and demand where it can. How much longer they can keep it up, God only knows. It's beautiful to see now that those of us who genuinely want a GT car (wanted in my case) can actually buy one.

I just specced one for fun - 302k euros for Indischrot Weißach PCCB car - even if I had the money and could get a slot, that is just too much for me to pay for a GT3 and I am sure it is an amazing car. I wouldn’t be surprised if some slots become available. I think at that money I would find a used 991 GT2 RS more tempting
