Endoscope cameras

Need to get an endoscope camera to check the internals of the SCR / DPF on my car. Any suggestions for something that's cheap (not likely to use it much) but still gives a decent picture? Are the ones that connect to a phone any good or am I better off with a stand alone unit?

I bought a standalone one with twin 1080P cameras and illumination and so on. This is the sort with a semi-rigid cable that could be pre-bent into shape, then the camera is positioned by pushing and twisting the cable. It was OK for what I needed and at around £50 I thought it was reasonable value for money. Next time I'd spend the extra to get a steerable camera head, though.
