Like many middle aged men my underwear drawer is a TK Maxx sourced pit of embarrassment. It was refreshed briefly in 2019 before a second date with a promising Bumble match, and again with a two-pack of Hackett's finest when I married aforementioned Bumble match in 2023. It's now a vast sea of grey cotton...much of it started out white, much started out black, now it's all grey, with failing elastic and ever widening holes. At this rate I clearly need to invest in new pants, otherwise I will be getting divorced papers served on me and I'll have to repeat the whole new pants/Bumble cycle again.

I keep seeing ads for bamboo stuff...Step One, Biofit, Randies etc...so gents (and ladies) are these as comfy, breathable and Adonis-like as the ads say, or do the ones with meshy side bits make it look like you're wearing your missus's smalls during the week as well as the more widely accepted weekend?

Thanks all!

This will be interesting to see what comes up, the price of men's trollies has just got plain ridiculous in the last few years, so will be interesting to see what is recommended.

I just buy a dozen pairs of CK ones every few years. Always found them well made and well fitted, not the cheapest but I've had cheap supermarket ones that have fell apart, so it's worth paying a bit more.

Stepone Trunks.

Won't use anything else now as they are way more comfortable than everything else I've ever tried.

Switched to Step One years ago, super comfy, they don't ride up like cheaper versions, I don't buy anything else, only slight issue is, I do feel the quality has dropped slightly over the years but they are still great and they last, you can get some pretty funky designs too. I've about 10 pairs.

I like British Boxers, but they've gone from a bit pricey to "that's the sale price?"

Comfy and they last really well though.

I used to purchase CK from Bicester village when I passed, but found they didn't last very long (maybe cos stuff is made cheaper for BV).

So went back to Crew stuff, cheaper, thicker and wearing well.

Another vote for Step Ones. Super comfy and excellent at separating the meat from the veg, so to speak. Good value in their frequent online sales, too, if you buy a few pairs. Missus says they look good too.

Actually I'm a medium.

After extensive testing settled in/on BAM. Soft, don’t ride up, waist band not too tight (a failing of Stepone for me, and no it’s nothing to do with being fat) and a good choice of colours.
