Collected the Turbo S from the couple of threads recently...

After what? About 100 miles or so it's hard to say too much as it was largely motorway and often in slow traffic. But first thing I've got to say David at 911v looked after me well. The car was prepared to absolute perfection and the whole buying experience made utterly painless, in fact not just that, an absolute pleasure. I know dropping a fair bit of money on a car you'd imagine so but this won't be even close to their dearest cars sold. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was done EXACTLY as promised. I can't recommend them highly enough.

He even managed to coax Henry himself out for a chat. I've always had in my mind an OPC is the best place to buy having bought my GT2 from Bristol OPC (excellent) and before that my turbo from an independent, but I honestly don't think they'd have done a better job of it, maybe even not so good given there were a couple of the tiniest little dents you've ever seen on it (nearly needed a microscope to see them!) and they sorted them without question.

The car is absolutely stonking, that engine is immense, immediacy of power and even when there is a bit of turbo lag it gives a fantastic entry into the torque -- quick but not like a switch, lovely power curve that makes you grin. Gearbox superb. Incredibly quiet on the cruise and yet gorgeous sounding (still not too loud) on the pipe.

Agate Grey is wonderful and even with full PPF musters a shine in the sunlight that's equal to a new car, The alcantara/leather carbon folding buckets are a total must have IMO for comfort and looks, PCCB are better than the ones in my GT2 or better assisted maybe, either way, immediate and strong as you like. Towards the end of my journey on some familiar back roads even though I was maybe only 20% on it I reckon, the steering and agility was just perfect. So much more performance to come as I learn the car.

Only downside is I can't park the bloody thing for toffee smile I'd forgotten the rear steer so backing into a parallel space I had about 5 bites at it and still it ended up at an angle. Something else to learn. There's a possibility being a new car somehow I lost my parking skills but I'm blaming the rear steering.

Anyway... Thanks for reading, hope not too boring...

thanks for the write-up. It looks very very nice, I really like how the 991.2 looks.
I need to try a Turbo at some point, never even driven one I think.

It's great to read first hand experiences and it's always immensely exciting learning a new car.

Agate grey looks well ... I'll be interested to read more as you learn the car ... it always takes me a while to while to become familiar ... and completely familiar is usually around the time I sell it smile

Cheers, the 992 turbo s is really special looking but honestly hand on heart with the (I assume) crappy "driver aids" you have to disable every drive) and the dashboard which I think was a downgrade being all digital, I really do think this is peak 911 turbo s looks wise. Performance -- god knows -- of course it'll be even faster and better but crikey, how much more do you need? smile

I've been a massive fan of the 911 turbo since my 996 turbo, the GT2 cemented that and now this just builds on my love of them. You should definitely have a drive in one.

My Dec 2023 Turbo S has no driver aids (apart from start/stop if you count that, which can be turned off via the steering wheel ‘diamond’ button)

Fabulous cars. I’ve got a .1 with a stage 2 upgrade. Had a blast yesterday. Always makes me chuckle. It’s an insane machine…

Looks fab well done and enjoy it.

Have the windows down in Sport to hear the (muted) pops and crackles and the turbos sucking and barking. Mine still surprises me it is blistering quick but totally competent at everything else including carrying all the wife's luggage. rolleyes

beautiful car, you really can't beat the Turbos tbh, imo once you've had a turbo it's hard to go back
