Our current Tiguan R 3yr lease is ending soon and i've started to give thought to it's replacement.
I'm looking at maybe another 2 / 3yr personal lease, or maybe a dealer PCP deal. Final option is using cash / loan to finance a 2nd hand car.

Criteria ...
It will be my wife's car, but I will also use it for business trips / days out / tip runs / dog etc.
Needs to be fun and fast.
Annual mileage will be roughly 10k (have another 2 seater car to use)
Medium size SUV
Petrol only (will only consider EV as wife's small car)
Budget £500'ish per month (could push towards £600/mth)

I've already been looking at Cupra Ateca VZ3 lease, X3 M40i 2nd hand and even new Alpine A290 lease + an old estate / SUV extra car option.

It's always interesting to hear the PH collective, so over to the floor! smile

theres a few pre facelift EV6 GTs up for 40k with full 7 year warranty, no £425 VED increase and £500 PCP contribution

massive amounts of room in the back for kids, dogs etc, and 580hp

Cheers Dave - I should have said NO EV's - Petrol only (edited in original post)

I would consider a small EV like the Alpine A290 as wife's primary car, but would still need an old petrol SUV as the workhorse.

CUPRA Ateca VZ3 is looking like best value option.

See if a Trail Hawk fits the bill. Not many around though.

I looked at similar last year.

Looked at Tiguan R, Looked at the Cupra Ateca and they're fast but don't really handle that well. I've driven many Macans in the past as loan cars and always enjoyed the drive so thought that would be an ideal replacement even though it would be about 3 or 4 years old to get into our budget.. Trouble was i forgot how small they are inside. The space is no bigger then a Golf.

Looked at the X3 M40i which I liked but the missus wasn't keen. Eventually in desperation I looked at a Tesla Model Y. Hideous thing aside, It Drove better then most of the other options, went like stink and they were giving them away for about £300 a month. Haven't looked back to be honest.Like you I have something more interesting to use as my daily and I even enjoy driving the Tesla everytime I use it.

Trouble is... the Tiguan is a really practical spacious comfortable vehicle, and the alternatives have as many minuses as pluses. If you like yours, can you buy it at a sensible price? My 230 TSI has just gone to my daughter, didn't want it to leave the family.

I also looked at X3 m40i and it handled better than the Tiguan, great engine and the rear bias X drive is such a pleasure after the Tiguan's "I'll think about sending power to the rear once the fronts start spinning", but it's more cramped, and the prices, omg the prices...
