Back in a Megane :D
Discussion
Having spent a couple of years with a 24 year old transit as my daily, I kept looking at the classifieds at the sort of cars I used to run around in before talking myself down as I didn't NEED a car.
Well, last week, the wife was trawling through FB marketplace when up popped a lovely looking Megane R26 F1 in liquid yellow at a very reasonable price. The ad was really detailed including the fact it was a cat N for some very minor damage to the drivers door.
I messaged the guy to see if was still available and could I view it. He said he had 2 people coming the next morning to view so I jumped in feet first to see it that evening. Only 1/2 hour from me so I set off straight away.
After a quick test drive I was sold. It had clearly been very well looked after and had masses of history, all from notable Renaultsport specialists. Money was exchanged and I drove off giggling like a schoolgirl!!!
Anyway, here she is

I've always looked admiringly at the R26R. It's just another example of classic French madness.
Being the F1 230 this one has some of the R26R bits like the LSD but without going as full on as perspex windows etc. It's recently had a suspension refresh with new shocks and drives absolutely beautifully.

Great car in a great colour
Any plans for it yet?
Thanks.

It's got a few untidy bits I need to sort out inside like the plastic peeling around the heater vents. It also needs a cam belt at the end of the year which isn't cheap on these.
Other than that, it's already got a K Tec cat back system and induction kit. I've never had a car remapped however I'm considering it with this one.
That looks great, congratulations. I loved mine, had it around 4 years. A remap really transforms them, I had mine done at EFI in Runcorn to a safe 253bhp and 297lbs ft and it made such a difference. If I had another it would be the first thing I'd do.
I don't know where you're based but if you are around the Midlands I can highly recommend Midland's Renault Specialist for work on them.

Sounds perfect, they are easily tuneable, titanium exhaust makes them sound amazing, and a big brake kit is very worthwhile I've always looked admiringly at the R26R. It's just another example of classic French madness.
