For anyone interested in hearing my thoughts on this car with some external driving shots, I filmed a quick video at the weekend on the car for my YouTube channel:

As an update since this car was listed, it has now had a full service and mechanical inspection (12th August 2025) to make sure everything is ready for the new owner. The supercharger didn't sound as it should so I asked for that to be investigated. It turns out the actuator was loose and that has now been repaired. The windscreen washers were also blocked so I got them done too. I also noticed one of the seat bolts was threaded so that was repaired too.

I'm pleased to say this car is now in perfect condition for the next owner to enjoy. If you'd like an independent inspection you're welcome to do so, or I can give Regency Autos permission to speak to you about the car to give an independent opinion.

Hi, how much are you looking to get for this?

Hi Charlie, it's a difficult car to value as it's a Mk1 MX5 with £20k spent on it to achieve what it has become, so there's nothing else like it and therefore nothing else to help gauge the value.

So it's on at No Reserve so whatever is the winning bid will get it and at least both me and the buyer can be assured that the end price is the market value of the car.

This looked incredible at the PistonHeads Annual Service - the paintwork in the flesh is so good. Wish I had space for it - best of luck with the sale! cloud9

Thanks Ben!

I adore it, I don't think I'll ever own a car that gets so much positive attention both on the street and at car events.

I think it's because every person who's ever considered a sports car has considered an MX5 at some point in their life so when they see one like this they can't help but admire.

Only reason I'm selling it is because I need rear seats so probably going to go for a 996 C2, but this paintwork has got me considering getting my next car resprayed as it just looks so good.

Thanks. For Supercharged and Turbocharged cars the air con compressor is removed to make space so there isn't air con in this car.

Thanks Alex. Supercharged MK1’s are capable of retaining the air conditioner, it’s just a case of repositioning the intercooler. I saw the air conditioner button on the HVAC panel and assumed your car had retained it, but couldn’t see the routing in the photographs. Lovely car, nonetheless.

Oh I didn’t know it could be re-fitted. That’s good to know thanks. I rarely drive with the roof up anyway.

Fabulous looking car, particularly the interior. And who can say no to a supercharger?

I'd be all over this auction if I hadn't recently bought a (standard) MK1 VR-Ltd that I may supercharge one day.

Great roads in this area too, I'm only a few miles south of you and an MX5 (or Eunos) is ideal for our roads.

Cost me a fortune to get the wife's A/C working on her Eunos Mk1, and each time it lasted a few months. Went to MX5 heaven in the end through extensive rust.

Thanks! I wish I could take credit for it but it's actually Mark who responded to this thread earlier who did all of the work to make it what it is.

I have invoices spanning 10 years and printed out emails going back and forth with suppliers all by Mark.

Hi Steve, yes that's fine, I'm around all day.

You can either drop me a DM on here or I think there's a Book a Viewing button on the listing.
