projector advice
Discussion
Id like a projector in the bedroom as we dont have room for a TV. Opposite the bed is a wall of wardrobes, light grey in colour, could I use a projector on this, and if so any recommendations. Ideally something that has built in apps ITV etc, not fussed about live tv.
The projector would be mounted above the bed which is about 2.7m from the wardrobes.
Any recommendations appreciated.

You can, but the result will be somewhere between bad and terrible.
There will be lines all over the picture where the door joints are.
Ditto door handles.
Unless the doors all close perfectly flat the screen surfuce will be on various different planes.
The actual surface finish is critical - if the doors are glossy or have a textured finish it will not have a good picture.
That's all assuming you have typical bedroom wardrobes. A photo of the wardrobes would help but on tbe face of it it's not going to give you a satisfactory result.

Yes, but it kinda depends upon how fussy you are about the end result. It will be quite sub-optimal, but it'll be entirely usable; you'll be able to see and understand the picture and if it's your only option then it'll be better than nothing.
Fair point. An alternative solution which I used with sliding wardrobe doors worked quite well.
Attach a bracket like the one linked below to the inside side of a wardrobe. The arms on the bracket are equal length so fix the bracket in the middle of the side panel and the tv will sit flat against that side when not in use.
Slide the wardrobe door open, swing the tv out and then slide the door almost closed again as it's only the thickness of the bracket arm that stops the door closing completely. Not ideal but was OK for me in a gym room.
You can fit up to about 24" tv in a normal depth wardrobe this way, or 42" if the bracket head also swivels so you can store the tv sideways up. It will also work with normal wardrobe doors and I guess that if you attach it to the non-hinged side of the carcass the door could be mostly closed when watching tv.
The advantage is the tv is out of sight when not in use and should give a better viewing experience than a projection on the doors.

I recently bought one of the cheap temu/aliexpress projectors that look like the samsung cylinder one. We don't have a tv in our bedroom and tbh don't want one but occasionally we might want some space to watch something in bed in the evening. The projector hides under a sofa at the foot of the bed and projects onto the ceiling above the bed. I plug a firestick into it to access all of the subscriptions we have and this works really well. The ceiling is a flat cream colour but has some downlighters in it. These don't really bother me as the convenience of having the projector and not taking up loads of space far outweigh it. If you aren't looking for the last answer in quality viewing, it works.
