Contemplating a change I was wondering what the Forums thoughts on this were ? I have already been down and had a look , we have even agreed a price for my 4.0 GTS . The car is very competitively priced and I was wondering if I am perhaps overlooking something or better still someone may recognise the car . Any comments or thoughts would be very welcome . SB24AXS is the registration number .

I have a 4.0 GTS and a GT4 RS. I don't think you're overlooking anything, unless you haven't had a decent test drive. You really do need to know what the 4RS is like, warts and all.

If I could only have one of mine, I honestly don't know which I would let go of. Both absolutely brilliant, but at the same time very different.

I think the spec, mileage and age of that car are just great. Really like the colour combinations, and the non-WP looks. Not sure you could go far wrong for that sort of money just now.

Nice one - lovely car.

Based on the reg number - I think it was first registered in Scotland - and so was probably Finmacs car.
He had it a short while as a gateway to SRS allocation.

From the photos it's on PS4S - other than that - do a buy if you want a bit of spice in your life.

This car was registered in Glasgow and I believe Finmac gets most of his cars from Aberdeen. Totally different dealer groups.

The only question I would be asking for lots more details on is the fact it has racing harnesses. Why?. What tractors has it done? Is this why there are no Cup 2s on it? I would want the wheels off and an extensive examination of the brakes. Discs, pads, the lot. The whole shooting match. That’s the only red flag I can see that I would be on enquiry about.

Other than that a lovely car. It’s hardcore - I have an SRS, so softer, but OMG that engine in that chassis and that gearbox. Magnificent.

Track days / not tractors!

Also the no cup 2s? Is that because they were totally done in on track? I don’t know. Just saying what I see, go and ask all the questions.

doubtful. I swapped to ps4s before I collected my srs as I know others also did. If not doing track work I wasn't convinced cup2s were the best tyre for uk roads and 12 months later I have never felt like I have missed out on any grip.

T'was ever thus in the Porsche GT space over the last 10 years or so. Truly bizzare.

tbf if it's never going to be tracked by you then I can kind of understand it being a bit OCD about that. lots of people can and do buy GT cars without ever taking them on track after all but it's peculiar for those who fully intend to subsequently I'd agree....

Totally agree. Just responding to the OPs points. The harnesses would make me ask a few Qs.

That’s all.

Hi, that is indeed my old car, it started life on my reg number
GT04SLO.

I specd it and it was originally supplied through Aberdeen OPC who I have a long term relationship with, it’s on PS4s because I had the OPC change the cups when it was brand new for a more road biased tyre. The car was carefully run in. Only sold because of a new SRS. Drop me a PM for more info on it.

Finmac

Did you have the harnesses fitted out of interest?

Roddy, drivers seat harness comes with the Clubsport pack - as does the fire extinguisher and of course the cage. I paid extra to get the cage in blue and that was a little disappointing as it’s quite a dark blue - with hindsight I’d probably have gone with grey and make it more of a “feature”, aside from that there wasn’t much I’d have changed about the car - it did look really good in the flesh smile

Looks to be a good spec, I don't really see the justification of the £10k Weissach pack option these?

Am I missing something, Is it a false economy not to buy a Weissach car, will it positively impact residuals going forward over a regular GT4 RS?

It appears that WP is one of the few extras that holds a decent chunk of its value down the line, more so than Mag wheels/ceramic brakes. In my own experience WP definitely makes the car easier to sell second hand unless there’s a decent price differential between non WP and WP cars at the same age/miles…
