Marella Voyager around the Canaries in March. I would say this'll be our last Marella cruise for a while. We like the Canaries around that time for a cruise, but have MSC Fantasia Yacht Club booked for March 27. We've a bit of a soft spot for Marella as it was the first cruise line we sailed with.

Then Queen Mary 2 in May 26 to the Fjords.

Then Queen Victoria in September 26 around the Med. Doing Britannia Club on that one.

Despite saying that our Panama Canal Christmas24/New Year. 25 would probably be our second and last cruise, Mrs BVD has convinced me that an Alaska Cruise in July 26 would be something worth doing!

So we depart on the Zaandam from Vancouver on 8 July 26.

March. 14 nights onboard Seabourne Venture: Ushuaia to Rio via (among others) Port Stanley (all part of a deal whereby we visit Iguazu Falls beforehand and Machu Picchu afterwards... )

We’re booked on Westerdam (Holland America) in March doing a 14 tour off Japan., so if anyone has done something similar it would great to hear any tips and suggestions.

We’re also doing northern Norway in October on Aurora - hoping to see the Northen Lights whilst we’re up there 🤞

Mid/late March we’re on the P&O Aurora to the top of Norway to (hopefully) see the Northern Lights. We’re both 60 in 2026 so this is our big present to each other. We’ve never been on a cruise before so are completely in the dark as to how it all works.

We’re going on our first ever cruise in July next year. MSC Virtuosa to the Norwegian Fjords. “PREMIUM SUITE AUREA DECK” with a balcony on the stern of the ship apparently.

we did one last year and can heartily recommend the Husky ride/experience (I don't particularly like dogs and thought this was brilliant)

Ah thanks. That’s one excursion my wife is really keen to try. They do love to charge for these things though!!

I think that "...through the nose..." is an appropriate phrase!!

The reindeer were ok too.

it may sound obvious but... we found it to be quite a cold ship. Several of the doors didn't close properly (including one leading to the buffet - it was so bad it had to be permanently closed whilst oop t'north)

we did love. Absolutely 'magical' (at the risk of sounding a little poncy)

We were on Scarlett Lady last year, now we're seriously looking at Virgin again for Autumn 2026 for one of their Eastern Mediterranean cruises. I think there's one from Greece to Barcelona we like the look of.

Any good places to start for river cruises in Europe. My wife wants to take her 85 year old mother next year…..probably May or June ? They have a brochure from Riviera Travel River Cruise Collection. They would be looking to fly to a local airport and transfer rather than Eurostar into Europe.

Any websites or companies preferred or advice for them ?

without wishing to sound rude SAGA do seem to have a good (if rather expensive) reputation, including insurance IIRC...

The danube area between Vienna and Budapest can be brutally hot in June, if thats where they are considering. Potentially too hot for someone in their late 80s.

No experience of river cruising but Viking and TUI are key players.
