I thought I would write this, in case it helps others...hence the long title.

To keep it fairly brief, I'm in Italy and I had a Check Engine Light that came on. I went through the usual process of making sure the battery was fully charged, took the negative battery lead off to reset the computer, and initially thought I had sorted it out. But then the problem came back and the engine was running a bit rough.

So I decided to call the breakdown line from within the MyFerrari app - that's where the helpline number is. You get free international breakdown with the Power15 Warranty. They arranged for the car to be picked up, and it was transported to a dealership near Florence. That was a bit of a hassle, but it worked out....however the car was picked up on Saturday night, and only got to the dealer the following Thursday. Ferrari did sort me out with a hire car though.

Car was fixed quickly once they got the part ... the issue ending up being a coil failing and it also needed a new spark plug. This was fixed for free under warranty.

But ... they don't include delivering the car back to you as part of the service. You have to go and pick it up - but they will cover the cost of train fares or flights(!) Strangely not a taxi though. Luckily we are with friends, so I got a lift there.

Upshot is ... car got sorted out and the warranty covered everything. It took more than a week though - mainly because the tow truck people were very slow. The service was pretty good to be fair, but it took me some chasing. It got me out of a hole ... without the warranty it probably would have been faster but much more expensive.

Hope this helps someone in the future !

That's interesting. I wonder what the small print is on those flight expenses.

Glad you got it fixed.

I supplemented with RAC European cover for that reason, they will recover to the UK.

That’s a good idea. And then take off a plug cap and get them to transport your car home for free smile

Sorry bit of a lengthy post!

In June on Deadman’s Col in the middle of France in the FF I hit a small rock with the front right tearing the tyre wall. It was a Sunday around midday, the number in the documentation was apparently only for medical emergencies but they put me through to somebody who told me they didn’t do Ferrari assistance anymore, eventually I found an 0800 number called it and it turned out to be RAC premium service. They were pretty good and organised recovery which arrived within about 90 mins however they took the car to a scrapyard in the middle of nowhere!. Turns out the Monday was a Bank Holiday in France so nothing was going to happen with the car.

They organised and paid for a taxi to take us to our hotel 2.5 hours away in the Gorge du Verdon, it cost them around €500.

Our onward trip was to the Italian lakes and they couldn’t organise a hire car as apparently we couldn’t take it from France to Italy so they
organised basic train tickets from Nice to Milan for the Monday but wouldn’t organise or pay for the taxi (2 hours and €450) to take us to Nice

We then had to organise another train to nr the Lakes and despite repeated attempts no hire car was forthcoming, on the Tuesday they eventually organised one the otherside of Milan but wouldn’t cover costs to go and get it, in the end we borrowed a car from our Italian friend

It was always the intention to leave the FF with my Italian friend and fly back on the Thursday, we did that but the car was in a scrapyard 2 hrs north of Marseilles ( I did ask for it to be moved to appropriate storage which they said they would but didn’t) and the dealer wouldn’t take the car until I committed to a collection date. In the end the car was not moved until the following Monday and I flew out early Tuesday, collected it from Marseilles, drove to nr Milan to leave it as planned and flew back from Malpensa Wednesday AM all at my own expense.

I tried to get confirmation of coverage limits for taxis etc but neither my dealer or I could find it anywhere
