Facebook Mplace, worth trying? Selling £10 notes for £7
Discussion
Well, that got your attention, but that is the gist of the query
Over the years i have amssed a grat deal of stamps. All GB and all can still be used as they are the 'picture/theme commemoratives over 300 of them are 1st class, the rest with vslues from 20p to 1.70
The actual face value is 650.00+
The joy of this is that the 1st class ones can only go up in postage value. so the whole lot woul;d be ideal for a club or charity they posts out stuff.
I have put these on ebay for 450.00 and not a sniff
IF i put these on FB to sell and i get a taker what is the best way to get paid? Cash, PayPal, Bank transfer.?
Any help appreciated
Cash is the only safe way apart from getting mugged etc
Depending on what it is I’m selling I always say” yeah I can meet you at my work at 1900”
Then just sit in my car outside fiddling with stuff until they arrive
Only do this as we had some loon trying to bring back something three weeks after taking it away and getting a bit lairy

PayPal would have to be "friends and family" otherwise it can be reversed by opening a non receipt claim.
One of the problems you face is that people are wary of second hand stamps as there are lots of fakes out there (not saying that is the case with yours).
Yep I used to buy stamps off eBay and used them for decades until the barcode came in, those I had left I sent off but got nothing as they were all fake, yet I'd used them happily for years. One of the problems you face is that people are wary of second hand stamps as there are lots of fakes out there (not saying that is the case with yours).
OP I suggest you try a specialist stamp collectors forum or sell in small quantities to people like me who'd just use them. £450 is far to high risk for most people when what you have could be all or part fake.
Problem with most stamp dealers i have looked at is the scrooge like offers of 30% of fsce value.. The PO route is like fir lije, as i did this with all the Machin headed non bar code standard ones tgat were being ohased out and thd booklets tgey came fron and now i have about 300 1st class barcode alobg with 200 odd values from 0.01 to 5.00 no cash!!!
the Gibjibs valuation is itro 800...and i cant gice them away... NOT that i intend to....lol

You can swap out up to £200 of non bar coded stamps with the form on the PO website. Get a couple of friends to do the same and you've got cash in the bank without the hassle of FB.
Thought that had a time limit on it? Might be wrongWas a little nerve wracking as we had about £100 in stamps coming back and we had assumed they had been pinched, but did eventually show up
I was hoping you could just exchange them in person
Although I think the op wants cash, not more stamps
We had a load of stamps as I won £200 in co op vouchers. As everything was so expensive I just purchased stamps, then they announced they were being swapped out, grr
