Been cleaning alloys the hard way with soap n water for years but saw a demo and was blown away by the spray on wash off products but can't remember the name of it....age plays a part in this story!

A decent coating once clean and then regular light cleaning is the way to go.

If you saw a demonstration then it's very likely it wasn't on year old baked on brake dust.

Everyone has their favourite brands, mine are Bilt Hamber. They do a dedicated wheel cleaner as well as a iron fallout remover. Called Auto wheel and Korrosol respectively.

I'm sure there's other decent brands out there too.

I would agree with the above, very few are spray on rinse off though they need to be worked a little.
Deep clean once every 6 months with BH for me then just regular shampoo once a week.
There are some dedicated wheel shampoos around that have a bit more cleaning power but are rarely needed.

I've tried numerous different wheel cleaners and Bilt Hamber as already mentioned is cracking stuff and is generally my go to wheel cleaner nowadays,

I'd also give a nod to Xpert-60,

I got a few of their products including their Phoenix wheel cleaner for free when I ordered a new AVA pressure washer, and I have to say I've been properly impressed with the way everything's performed so I've ordered some more, the price is quite appealing too.

Bilt Hamber, awesome stuff considering it's PH neautral.

I have a routine of cleaning the alloys on all cars each week, even if it's raining outside and I don't clean the rest of the car. This means I never use anything other than car shampoo diluted into a spray bottle.

Dragons Blood does exactly the same job and smells identical to BH's Autowheel.

Bought a pack of 4 x 5 litres from Amazon for little more than 4 litres of Autowheel would cost, it'll see me out.
