The car is cutting out when slowing down. It's like the ignition has failed. Trying to rev it makes it miss & splutter & judder. It will restart & when i get the revs up it will go.
Its like its firing on one cylinder. The ignition components are not old & every thing was changed including the ignition amp.
I tried the old coil but that was not the problem. But i did get home by keeping moving & the revs up. 40mph idiots did not help.
No smell of fuel. So it could be MAF, stepper, etc.
I have rover-gauge but no computer to run it on. I went apple when Microsoft failed again.
I have a laserline alarm immobiliser with a dirty great Penny pleaser. That might be playing up.
Any pointers. I am sure i am not the first to have this problem.
Thanks.

Check the 100A fuse on the chassis. Mine was corroded and fell apart when I touched it, I wasn't getting any no charging lamp (this would illuminate if it had failed completely).

Spiking voltages causes the ECU problems and it will run rough. Stepper motor is also a possibility.

Check the basics first such as rotor arm and distributor cap, leads in place especially the king, connections at coil and amp.
Check the Maf connector is seated, also disconnect it and see if the connections look dirty.
Not sure why you changed parts but more often than not depending where you got them they can fail quickly as they are junk.

You can run Rovergauge on a Mac, you just need to run a virtual machine on it.
The one I was using is called VM Fusion. It works fine on that.

If you still have the spark plugs extenders, try without them. When mine failed (suddenly), once a bit hot, the engine was not able to rev and once very hot (quickly has unburnt fuel was sent to the exhaust pipes), it was staling.
