They clung on just long enough
Discussion
Izzy’s passing got us thinking about people who just lived long enough - he got to have his final spectacular farewell to Birmingham and then went just after. So far all we’ve got is the Queen, she kept going just long enough to see Boris booted out
Alternatively, anyone who went too soon and didn’t get to see something that would have been of genuine importance to them. Again, we’ve drawn a blank after Alfred Wegener who could have feasibly made it far enough to see his ideas taken seriously by the wider scientific community.

When David Lynch died recently it reminded me just how many of the original cast of Twin Peaks held on long enough to complete the 25-year-later sequel... Then shuffled off. It was quite a few of them. It really did seem they were just waiting to finish the story.

I think it's the other way around. She would still be with us today, but one meeting with Liz Truss and she thought "I'm too old to deal with this f

Oh man thought I was having it tough, but don't know what to say. She passed away the next day.

It's only 4 months on Sunday since lost my wife, and still the tears flow. Just my daughter and I now though you have a larger, far larger, task.
We both promised her we would look after the other one. Just feel so inadequate when on a bad day all I can hear is "I so want my Mum for a hug."

I had a friend who had breast cancer which, although treated, eventually spread and was terminal but she was determined to have a party for her 25th wedding anniversary.
She survived another 6 months and had a lovely party and you would not have known she had terminal cancer. She died 2 weeks after in tremendous pain, begging to die.
