Hi guys,

We pick up our new car very very soon, an 18 plate B9 Audi RS5 carbon edition with over 20k of options including carbon ceramics! 😬 never ever would I have thought I'd own a car like this in my life and I'm so excited to finally get behind the wheel.

Currently looking into immobilizer variants, what do people recommend? Ideally I'd like the pin option as I'd probably lose the fob 😂 do certain insurers only approve of certain brands? Seems like it's either Ghost or scorpian..

For now it'll be part exing ours and getting used to a new to us little rocket ship 🙏😎

Nice choice.

I've worked on many cars with aftermarket immobilisers over more recent years - all have been Ghosts', make of that what you will.

Enjoy the first drive home!.....

I would go with a Ghost system.

Just remember you'll need to tell every garage any time you take it in for work. Dropping it off for a service the night before so its first on the ramp in the morning doesn't really work out if they can't get it to move!

Obviously this was a friend it happened to and not me personally paperbag

Thanks guys!

Will definitely have more of a look into a ghost system them. So far I'm just looking forward to the drive home. I know the RS4 is more cult hero but the 5 with its low roof and 2 doors is almost more of an un-sung hero. Love it!

Home time 🥳 absolutely in love with the car. Shame the traffic was horrendous but gave us time to go through the endless gadgets and settings. All I can say about the power is its effortless.

First car with carbon fibre, now to find some mirror caps to match. Also not that we bought it for fuel saving, but it can be semi frugal when we're not being max verstappen - had almost 40 out of it over a 3 hour journey before.

It has valet mode so shouldn't ever be an issue.

Another vote for Ghost.

Great, I'll look more into them. I assume there is recommended installers across the region or can I contact them directly and they then in turn send someone out? All new to this so sorry for stupid questions!

They've fitted Ghosts to both our cars as well as Trackers and they were really good.

Worth a look.

Legend, thanks! Literally just looking now, reasonable prices too paired with the scorpion tracker. My only worry is battery drain, and having keyless and all new fancy tech.. whats the likely hood I'll run into battery/electrical issues due to the immobilizer/tracker draining charge?

I had a Ghost and tracker fitted to my M135 and I've not had any whiff of a battery issue so I wouldn't worry about that. The wife's car is an Evoque and it's the same story with that.

What I would say about Tracker Team is their communication, installers etc are all spot on. Ours were done on the drive at a time that suited us and both installs were hassle free etc.

I'm not affiliated to them at all, just thought they did a rally good job.

I'm always happy to use people that do the job properly, not the cheapest, and it sounds like you've found a company that do that. I'll definitely send them an email. Cheers bud 👍

I’ve got a ghost and dashcam fitted in my 3er and if left for a couple of days I get a battery drain warning on ignition on.

Always thought it must be the dashcam as it’s always on, I hadn’t thought about the ghost for battery drain.
