Buying advice please
Discussion
I think this is the place to come for down to earth honest advice so here goes. Happy to hear good and bad, just throw it at me.
I want perhaps one of the least PH type car imaginable, a Citroen C5X. I also want the PHEV version, 1.6 with something like a 178/ 180hp engine which I like and had in my most recent car under a different 225hp tune, plus I think it's about 100/ 110hp traction battery. Together it's 225hp combined.
The spec of both options is almost identical, it was just a model name change in October 2023. Pre October 2023 the version I want was called Shine+, after this it changed to MAX.
I have 2 divergent options when it comes to buying.
1) I can get a 24/74 plate MAX with a few thousand, sub 5k miles on it for £25k 24 reg, or £27k 74 reg. I do not have the build dates for these. They could be 2023 or 2024. Time from build to registration probably in the region of 12 months.
2) I can get a 74 plate Shine+ registed Nov 24, a few to choose from at £21k-£22k all with a sub 5k miles on them. These are all 2023 build dates. Time from build to registration probably in the region of 12-18 months.
By chance I enquired about another car last wk and they also had a 23 reg Shine+ with del miles and the guy told me the traction battery had been replaced. This is probably because the car had been sat for 2 years, it made me think.
Now I know the battery is under warranty for 8 yrs and that would run from the registration date, so in the event there were any problems with the 1) option I'd be covered.
What do people think? Is it risky?

It's not risky depreciation will be a bit stiff in the first few years but nothing like it has already been.
Motorpoint has quite a few 24/74 plate Shine +'s starting from 21k so they may well be worth talking to as well as Arnold Clarke.
They have some 408 GT's too but they're a couple of grand more.

£22k ish is about as high as they go these days (except for the silly priced Hypnos). Saw them all start around £24k ish a few months ago.
I wouldn't have minded the £21,399 cumulus grey one but the amazonite is a little bit funky, grey in some lights and green in others, which kinda suits the off roady style. I also buy a car with 1,400 miles instead of 4,600 on it.
