Hi guys

bought an elise 1 month ago and totally love it, unfortunatly ive been lovin it a bit too much and got clocked by PC plod doing 43 in a 30 and recieved 3 points for it! So ive got 5 questions for you guys.

1 I was just wondering has anyone got a road angle in their elise (the new compact one) ive got a janspeed exhaust and am unsure if i will be able to hear the alert beep?

2 How much do you reckon the going rate for a hard top is, looking for one in titanuim silver or black for an s1 if anyone has one? and do the hard tops have rails eitherside for roof rack/ski rack how firmly are they attached to the car?

3 Has anyone tryed putting something on the roof of their elise im thinking 3 kilo windsurfboards not pianos?

4 Ive seen a few elises with 3/4 size (motor bike size) front number plates, are these legal, where do you get them from?

5 How do i get involved in the meets, i live in essex and wanna have a snoop round a few other elises?

thanks very much for your time guys looking forward to your replys.....

Welcome!

1) You should easily hear the beeping

2) Hardtops seem to do £600 - £700 on ebay. Maybe a touch more at this time of year.

3) I've seen an Elise on the motorway with a surfboard on top so it must be possible.

4) I have a 3/4 sized plate. It's not legal but you wont be stopped as it looks in proportion with the rest of the car. Stick with a standard font and you'll be fine. Mine was about £15. www.fancyplates.com

5) Am sure the Essex people will be along with info. Try SELOC.

Good luck

Hi Richard, I've managed to get a surfboard on the roof of mine ok, i've got a FCS softrack roof rack. It really works best with the hard top although I have managed to use it with the soft top but you have to be careful as I bent a roof support getting a bit excited about tightening it up. I got my roof rack off ebay for £10! It will hold 3 surf boards so no probs with one wind surfer as long as it's a small ish one.

Failing that i've also stuck it out the passenger window, which was ok until we had an almighty hailstorm and my car filled up with ice!

I have an S2 with stage two fitted, (VERY LOUD) and can hear the road angel, just.....Make sure the volume is on full though.
You may find the r/a falls out of the cradle, due to the ride, use velcro to keep it in place...

I have an Origin B2. Superb unit and most importantly it has NEVER let me down. Big flashing lights, and alarm and a voice telling you how fast you should go. It also will not bother you if there is no threat i.e. you are going too slow for the camera to get you or if the camera is facing the other way and is not a threat. Never leave home wothout it!
