Sterrato prices
Discussion
I've noticed they've come down a lot since they first came out, the price tracker on auto trader shows some dealers were trying to sell them at £300k and now you'll get a very low mileage one for £220-250k.
Do you think they'll hold their prices for long or is there more to go? If they're going to drop over the next couple of years to sub £200k then I'll just wait, but I've made that mistake before, waited for cars to drop and they've actually gone up.

You’ll wait 2 years to save 10-15%?
Seriously, if you fancy one go to a dealer and do a bit of haggling, I suspect most are on SOR, and if they’ve been sitting a few months then I’m sure a deal could be done.
They’re really great cars and it would be sad to miss the experience for the sake of not asking..
Good luck!

Most have been dropped quite a bit already and I made an offer on one and got instantly rejected so my assumption was (at least that particular dealer) thinks they won't go down anymore. They do appear to be great cars, but it might not be a keeper, so will I get my pants pulled down when I try to sell in a year or two? So when all considered I'm a bit reluctant to spend that much if they're likely to drop more, no one wants to buy a car and then see them plummet in a years time.
The car market is nasty at the moment, dealers are pushing for as much as they can and then they totally take the Michael when you want to trade something in. The dealer I made the offer to told me I'd definitely get my money back if I wanted to trade it in in a years time, so I asked him to put that in writing in a formal letter and he never even emailed me back, lol.

might be worth getting a Dakar instead as they could hold their values better
I'd never have another Porsche with that 3.0L small turbo engine in, it's rubbish plus the turbos are starting to fail a bit too regularly for me.It's been widely reported that the new Dakar will have the 3.6 hybrid from the new GTS, I've driven one and it's good, so I went and spoke to my local OPC and the young salesman was sarcastic and said it didn't exist and probably never would and he wouldn't even consider putting my name down on any type of list saying I was interested.
I'm a bit burnt out by Porsche dealers lately, I remember the days when they would work hard to sell you a car, now they smirk if you ask for something and haven't bribed them first by buying three crap cars you don't even want first.
agree they have a long way to drop
will the end up as a novelty ?
i want one though
there was a purple one that had a great colour scheme

I want matt black, there are a couple for sale at £240k.will the end up as a novelty ?

A matt black one might slide under the radar without too much fuss, a brightly coloured one would just be inviting abuse anywhere you went in it.
I probably wouldn't ever have a red Ferrari either, I had a black one and I'd quite like a silver 458, but red is just asking for angsty people to spit on it every time you park it up, at least in the UK anyway.

Mine is bronze, not under the radar..and have only ever had good comments, if that matters. Much more so than a 'normal' Lambo.A matt black one might slide under the radar without too much fuss, a brightly coloured one would just be inviting abuse anywhere you went in it.

9000 miles on it now, and like it more all the time. Seems to sound even better now too, a brilliant thing.
Not trying to talk prices up, as I won't be selling.

I'm so envious, I think there is something really special about them, I live in Dubai mostly and there was one outside the restaurant we went to the other day, it was right out front and there were much more expensive cars around it but the Sterrato stood out by a mile, not in a bad way, it just looked so cool and purposeful instead of the other cars that were screaming "look at me", they got it perfect with the Sterrato, it looks awesome but in my opinion not in a way that gets negative attention.9000 miles on it now, and like it more all the time. Purposeful is probably the best way I can think to describe it, I was with friends who don't know anything about cars and one pointed at a florescent green Huracan and said how it was such a posers car and how the Sterrato was different, he couldn't believe it at first when I pointed out it was basically exactly the same car, but with a body kit and matt paint.

That is most definitely not my experience either ... ( Arancio Borealis - bright orange )I did a 3,000 mile UK roadtrip in mine back in April and got nothing but positive comments / vibes the whole way - people loved it !
Also got way more attention than my previous Huracan, gallardo & ( unbelievably I admit ) Diablo !
I think a couple of problems with Sterrato is:
Marmite looks. I absolutely love the way it looks but can understand why some people don't ( though I've never spoken to someone who hates it after seeing one in the flesh )
It was marketed as an off road supercar. So people just don't get the point - why not just get an Urus ?
But those people are really they're missing the point, which is its 'off-road' treatment it actually makes a fantastically fun, practical & useable supercar.
For sure with so many for sale right now I think prices will fall further yet. ( and to be honest I think they were quite overpriced new - a bit of a cash-grab from Lamborghini I think ..)
Once these surplus cars get sold to owners who appreciate them for what they are and how different they are from anything else available ( Dakar ? really ?? looks even more like a VW Beetle than a regular 911 ! :-) ) then - maybe - prices will stabilise as those owners will not want to sell .

I think it has a personality that could make it a keeper and even a daily.
I was just saying in an email to someone that I'd like a 458 and I think it might be a tickbox thing because I've always wanted one, but you never know, it might grow on you and you keep it forever, I could imagine a Sterrato being like that.
