I'm curious to know what everyone does to keep their Alpine in optimal condition before and during track days.

I've heard a few tips, such as:

Removing the rear panel above the cooling fans,
Making sure the automatic handbrake doesn t engage after a session,
And removing the guards in front of the front wheels to improve cooling.
Are there any other recommendations or best practices I should be aware of?

My car is an 2024 GT model on the original Michelin PS4 tires.
The track is Zolder.

Check the oil, maybe take some spare.

Tyre pressure gauge and pump, you'll need to let some air out during the day - I might drop as much as 7 or 8 psi over the first couple of sessions.

Keep an eye on the oil/gearbox temps if its hot; consider doing a couple of cool down laps rather than just one.

As a Zolder trackday goer (albeit not in my A110): make sure the brakes are up to scratch; the track is notoriously hard on them.

Another question. Do you guys completely remove the engine cover?

David Pook suggests opening the engine cover when you get back from lapping. Let it cool down.

My understanding is David suggests completely removing the cover for the day, and opening the hatch between sessions to let the heat out.

I did back to back days last week, on the first I took the cover off, on the second I just opened the hatch between sessions. On my last run on the second day I got the check emissions warning that I think is heat related, but could have just been a long run at the end of the day.

That was fine when the car cooled, but I’ll definitely be looking into other cooling solutions. Wortec exhaust make a material difference in people’s experience?
