Hi lady friend has a Vauxhall CORSA HATCHBACK 1.0i 12V ecoFLEX S 3dr

She has a problem with her passenger seat forward tilt ( to allow passengers in and out of the rear)

When you lift the lever to allow seat forward tilt (red arrow), the part of the passenger seat nearest to the handbrake releases and can be tilted a few inches but the nearest side as shown by image is still latched so the seat cannot tilt forward

Any thoughts on how to free up ?

I don't know the corsa but had similar in my MG ZR. If it's a dual cable / wire release system probably going to be that the cable on the stuck side has either come off the metal latch that allows it to tilt / lock to the subframe or has sheared / gone slack somewhere so the tilt wont function on one side.

In the case of my ZR the cable had gone slack, so i readjusted it's path behind the seat cover but a week later it went again and i ended up fitting a new cable to get it working again.

I like problems like this...in cars like these...

Because no matter how broken it is, 15 minutes on Facebook/ eBay will find a used fully operational seat for £20, as the worst case scenario.

Worth tinkering though and hope someone can give advice.
