This may not be big news but I thought it worth posting for others. The AC on my Renault Scenic stopped working. Re gassing didn't fix it. A second look found the compressor wasn't working ( oh ****that's expensive) but then the chap doing the diagnosis bypassed the car's electrical feed to it and connected it direct to a 12v battery. And guess what.. Compressor working. Next step was try a new gas pressure regulator switch. ( Or something called something like that. No change. The actual culprit turned out to be a faulty temperature monitor switch in the heating system that in the middle of a heatwave was telling the AC that the ambient temp was -2c. Switch replaced and all fixed. My very good and very experienced independent Renault specialist hadn't seen this problem before so I thought it might be worth making others on here aware.

Thanks for the 'heads up' it is suprising how some little gremlins can seriously fork with things!!
