Hi all, I'm slowly banging my head against a wall trying to find a bike that is UCI legal for Time trials. I've found a 2014 Cervelo P5 that fits mostly my budget and spec requests, but Google isn't clear if it's still legal. I'm planning on competing within a national TT series, so I need to make sure whatever I get is UCI legal.

Any help on the below would be really appreciated.

I think the head tube is too deep.

When that bike was new there were 2 versions - the P5-3 and the P5-6. The former being the UCI legal TT version and the latter being the Triathlon version.

The difference is the front fork - the TT version has a much narrower fork blade - with a 3-1 width ratio instead of 6-1 - the Triathlon version has a fairing arrangement covering the front brake and the brake line, which are not UCI compliant. There is also an aero cover on the rear brake - but that's three bolts to remove so no drama.

I'm not up to date with it anymore - so I don't know what the current rules are, I believe the 6:1 ratio may now be compliant - but the fairings i'm sure still won't be.

The picture is a P5-6 - the triathlon bike.

Also the Magura hydraulic rim brakes on that are a bit of a setup nightmare - they are also very discontinued so spare parts are extremely rare.
