Hi All,

Just wondering about the best way to sell a Tuscan? I won't provide details of my car as this isn't a "classified in disguise" - I'm just wondering on people's views. I've owned it for nearly 15 years so haven't really thought about this.

- Every physical auction I've used has seemed scummy - high pressuring on reserves last minute, car not treated well/warmed up properly in the "yard", etc.). Never again.
- Whilst I love online auctions, they don't seem to get good prices for Tuscans. Maybe it's that people really want to see them in person first?
- Autotrader, in my experience, doesn't deliver brilliantly for niche cars like this. Most of its massive audience wants a 118d.

That pretty much leaves eBay or PH? I assume PH is where the audience is, but there aren't many for sale in here at the moment?

Any insights are gratefully received!

Cars and Classic.

Facebook marketplace - TVR buy and sell groups as well as the 'main bit'.

Irregardless or the quality of your add, you're likely to have negative feedback. Too cheap and the assumption will be it's a wreck. Too much and the assumption is it's an expensive wreck. Pick your price, stick to it and be patient. I know several owners who tried selling their cars for months with no interest or timewasters. Sent them off to some of the dealers who promptly added £5k to the price and they sell in days.

I’d take my advice with a pinch of salt as I haven’t sold a TVR for a very long time. Although I think I’ll be selling one soon.

I’d still try PH classifieds but Facebook seems to be the most active place for today’s TVR people.

Thank you both, good advice.

It's sad but you're probably right - I expect nothing but pain from Facebook but if that's where the market is I'll have to put up with it! Might try that first, then try PH if that doesn't work.

It seems people are terrified of buying private these days. Not just TVR but anything. They would rather pay £5K plus for a stty 6 month warranty with the car!! If you do sell private I find adding into the add that you will put 12 months MOT and service of the car for the purchase price. it will get more interest
