Watch Price Index

Hi All

Would appreciate any views on how reliable as a reference point, the index on the link below is in the real world. I am looking at vintage watches generally, ideally a Rolex. I have identified a few, all of which are well in excess of figures referenced on the index. This would be a nice to have purchase and I don't want to get laughed out of the shop but don't want to pay well over the odds either
