Hello, my petrol-headed pedegree chums.

I wonder if one or more of you might be able to help with a USB-related dilemma.

I've been trying to connect my PSP to this PC (it's a bit old and a bit crap, but theoretically it should be possible) but the PC doesn't seem to want to play ball.

There was one moment where I plugged the PSP in after installing the PSP data managemnt software (running Windows '98 here), and Windows decided to try and search for a driver for the PSP even though it doesn't need one. Nothing has happened since!

Device manager has the PSP listed under other devices but there's an exclamation mark next to it, and the PSP doesn't appear as an external drive in My Computer, which I am lead to believe it should.

Any thoughts?

Windoze 98 probably doesn't include a driver for the PSP - you might need to download one.

You need 98 OSR 2 and then a device specific driver for 98.

Dan, stoopid question, but have you selected the USB Connection bit on the PSP? That switches its USB port on.

Move away from that on the PSP menu and it drops the connection at once?
