Looking for some ideas on how to find storage for an overflowing garage. We have no intention of moving and a long road to being able to build more garage space at our property. As many of you have run into before, I've ran out of space. I live in south bucks and there's plenty of farms and land owners around, so I figured finding some barn space shouldn't be too difficult but I don't really know where to start?

For anyone who has been successful with this, where did you start? Knocking on doors? Calling the farm shop numbers?

I've also looked at warehouse units but the prices are so high in the area, plus business rates are payable. There are plenty of local storage companies, but none of the provide free access, it's all by appointment which is quite frustrating when the sun pops out and you want to grab the old convertible.

Thanks

Why not just drive round the local farms and find someone to ask? Alternatively go to your local livestock market and ask a few farmers. But knowing a few farmers, I am pretty sure they will have a good idea of the value of there sheds if you are after a bargain.

I suspect with a lot of farmers it will be word of mouth, if you can get talking to one or two even if they don't have anything they may well know another farmer who does have some space as a lot of them network and know what each other are up to.

When I was looking for garage storage I found Gumtree was quite a good resource too for people advertising storage space so may be worth a look.
