Pulled Fuse 22. Why did this happen?
Discussion
Rev counter, speedometer, fuel guage temp guage not working and both digital displays blank. Has this happened to anyone? Same again when fuse 15 is removed.
What's going on?
Sorry - just to add 2009 Vantage 4.7. I've just taken ownership of the car and the battery has had it. That may be the cause then. I'm expecting a new battery to be delivered shortly..

OP, please check your manual/owners handbook. Fuse 22 (in the boot) is the right one for the exhaust valves in the early cars. It changed to Fuse 15 a few years later, although I can’t remember exactly which model year change, but what you are describing should not happen if you have removed the correct one. It may also be worth checking the condition of your battery as these cars are notorious for odd and inexplicable electrical issues as a result of a poorly charged or old battery. BRM.

It was a crap battery. This information may be of use to someone in the future.
With almost any Gaydon generation car the battery should always be the first port of call if you’re experiencing any dodgy inexplicable electrical issues. Welcome to the wonderful world of Aston Martin ownership. Glad you got it sorted out. Well done.
BRM.

So on my 2012.25 Facelift i pulled the Fuse for Valves (far right fuse) and i didn't notice any change in exhaust note on start up on revving, i did not drive the car, so i put the fuse back in. I wonder if i pulled the correct fuse
It's possible that you did remove the correct fuse and the difference was not significant - I have a 15MY V8V. The valves are open on first start up, then close, and open as the revs rise. On no- or light throttle the difference isn't really that significant, but becomes more noticeable as you put load on the engine. I actually have a CCharger remote control that allows me to switch between "normal" and "always open" on the fly but, to be honest, it doesn't make a huge amount of difference on the post 12.25MY cars with four catalystsDo you have an 'S' or a non-'S'? Because the non-'S' cars (like mine) have a different, quieter back box.

PHers write about the sound being louder, when Fuse 22 is removed on the 4.3 cars.
With my 2009 4.7, I could not notice any difference.
However, being a pre-2011 car, I was able to have the cheap cat mod., with the sound level being controllable by a 3-way wired switch.
Each of the pair of cats are now 400 cell.
Exhaust level and note is now glorious. A very noticeable difference at cold tickover and also when using full acceleration.
I think your only choice will be a change to cats with a lower cell count.

Mine is a Non-S sadly i know the OEM S Model exhaust is louder.Do you have an 'S' or a non-'S'? Because the non-'S' cars (like mine) have a different, quieter back box.
