Hello

I have a 2013 SLK and the other day, the DAB radio has decided to not find any stations (no signal).

This despite it working pretty well previously, with my station preset etc

I have the car booked into a Indy Merc garage, who say they will run a diagnostic… will this find any gremlins?

Anyone else suffered with this?

yes I know reception on these cars is not the best, with the aerial bing in the windscreen etc

I haven't driven my car for a while to check....but seen this posted on other forums.

I think DAB has been switched off unfortunately, all stations are now on the newer system of DAB+. It's impossible to upgrade the equipment so it just is what it is I'm afraid.

thanks

I managed to get my 2014 E class upgraded from DAB to DAB+ with a new receiver unit. The main dealer did this under warranty as I had issues with the reception. This was quite a few years ago.
If everything has moved to DAB+ then that makes almost all older car DAB receivers obsolete, glad I managed to get mine upgraded when I could.

Yeah it's a shame, and would have been quite a rare option ticked on my 2010 R171 SLK at the time....but to be honest barely used it as it was slow, clunky and reception patchy. I find myself just sticking to FM or bluetooth from my phone.

Get a k-tech CarPlay unit and download a DAB app for it.

Done in in my 2014 SLK -works really well.

Ahha, that would explain why my DAB does not work in my 2015 C250.
