I'm looking at a buying a P530 Autobiography 2022/24 but am seriously concerned about reliability as i do a lot of continental miles and the last think I need is it to keep throwing a wobbler on me , any advice greatly appreciated.

Speaking to my cousin last night that has a full fat 24 plate RR plug in. He says it’s constantly going wrong, won’t start, won’t open, back seats have a mind of their own and fold themselves, boot won’t open. Was left stranded with his family at the airport the other day after coming back from holiday, wouldn’t start. He wishes he just bought a Volvo XC90.

I've done 11k in my 74 plate L460 now and it's an amazing car - hasn't put a foot wrong.

Mine's the D350, which is incredibly smoothed and refined - you don't notice it's a diesel. Toured the continent at fairly high speed and still returned close to 40mpg.

The engines in the P530 are BMW derived, I believe at some point in 2024 they moved to a mild hybrid/MHEV "S68" engine, which is supposed to be more reliable than the non MHEV version of the engine, but having owned 7 JLR products with no issues I wouldn't be too concerned about the previous version, either.
