I'm in the market for a 1/2" drive extra long handle rachet, not sure about flexi head yet. I used to restore old race cars and a lot of my tools are Snap On and I've always been a little snobby with other brands biggrin Especially after someone I knew broke his hand when a cheap rachet let go and he punched a suspension arm

Now I work in an office with a side hustle importing Japanese cars I can't justify even second hand Snap On really. My normal tool go to brand is Halfords Advanced but they don't do a long handle rachet.

Siegen do one but it a bit suspiciously cheap at £21. There is a used Snap On on ebay for £150 so what is around for somewhere between those two?

Long ratchets are a bad idea, a decent fine ratchet can't be engineered to take huge torque without costing a stupid amount of money; use a breaker bar to loosen then use an ordinary ratchet. A decent cordless impact driver probably makes all of this moot anyway.

How long and what budget?

Milwaukee do an 18” in the £50 range.

Most of their stuff is decent.

I would just use a breaker bar, otherwise Teng, Britool and Facom do a long one for about £50.
