If thats one i'm thinking of, it was one of two management role cars based at Dunton. they would wheel spin in the first 3 gears. Came across it when my dad was working there in the early 80's

I think that Ghia in the picture looks fantastic . I remember as a youth , when Production of these ended in the late seventies , being really disappointed by the replacement . I also thought they had a nicer finish than the MK2 . Over time however opinions would change and you had to hand it to Ford , in the Seventies they didn't get much wrong .

The magazine that road tested FLY2T awarded it their 'Modified Car of the Year award' at the end of the year.

W. Harold Perry (at the time the world's biggest exclusive Ford dealer with multiple branches) produced the car in partnership with Broadspeed. A twin turbo Cologne predating the Turbo Technics Capris and Sierras.

I think the only cosmetic changes were the coach line and a new steering wheel centre badge. The price seemed to be the problem with this car.

I joined Perrys a few years later and remember the first Sierra arriving in the showroom, that was a shock !

Indeed. Couldn't you buy a decent house for that in those days?

(I googled it and the average house price was £19k in 1979).

Shame that the AVO built prototype 2-door Granada RS with a turbo'd 3.1 RS Capri engine was scrapped. Legend has that it was quite the weapon.
