F54 Clubman Wheels/Tyres

Just in process of buying a JCW Clubman (2020), it has 19inch wheels with cheap tyres on. Does anyone have good experience of 19inch tyres that can handle rough roads or potholes? Current tyres (235/35/19) look to have a few chunks out of rim edges. I don't need track day stuff
I'm also considering swapping to 18in, but can't see too many OEM Wheels used for sale at moment.
