Hi,

I recently purchased a Triumph motorbike and the diagnostic software is only available on Android. I’m very much into Apple and know very little about Android so would appreciate some advice on either a cheap phone or tablet to run it (preferably a phone). It will only be used for this purpose.
Below is a spec requirement for the software.
Thanks in advance.

You don't need anything more than this Samsung really:

I have a triumph and have that diagnostic software, the bigger the screen the better!

Get a tablet.

If you do decide on the tablet route as suggested above, and you just want basic and functional, the Redmi Pad SE is probably a good shout. You can get it with 8GB RAM 256GB memory (expandable to 1 TB) for £116 from Xiaomi's site (after 10% discount voucher available on the site). There's also a 4GB + 128GB version but you'd only save a tenner getting that so, it's worth paying a little more for double the RAM and memory.

Thanks for all the advice. I think a tablet is a good shout; would the 7” version of the above do the job?

Given the software spec requirements in your first post then it should certainly be up to the job. The version you linked to is the 4G enabled version. You probably don't need the SIM enabled version and the WiFi only version is cheaper still. Oh, and it's 8.7 inch display.

I had a couple of Redmi phones and they were excellent.

For tablets, I've been buying the Doogee one's on Amazon ... again excellent, well built, good spec and very reasonable price.

I use the app on my Pixel 9 phone but just installed it on my sons, Lenovo M10 tablet and it works fine.
