I had a plasterer come round on end of last week. I requested him not to plaster too far on the inside of the window frame. He didn't quite get the memo.

The blinds 'anchor points' plugs have been plastered over. I assumed they would dry a different colour or at least be locatable to the touch, I was wrong.

I have roughly marked 3 points where they may well be, based off some common sense, but is there a more clear way to find them?

My issue is, tomorrow I have 6 viewings booked in. I need the wall painted and the blinds up for them. What I don't want is to start blasting at the plaster and damaging it/the wall to try and locate them!

Picture attached

Any tips welcome!

A decent stud detector will detect non-metal items such as Rawl plugs under plaster.

Paint it and wedge the blind back in place with some card packing. That'll get you over the viewing. Then try and find them at your leisure after. You'll have a pretty good idea where they are from the blind location but you'll end up digging out more plaster than you'd like and the filler repair can then have enough time to dry.

Paint and don't bother with blinds if your selling?
If he pulled the rawl plugs out you may be better off just drilling new ones anyway.

Yup. Worth asking the plasterer if he did before going digging.

^that,

And while you are there, some quick set filler. Then just drill the holes new.

Intrigued to know why a blind starts half way down the window!

But as others said, redrill. You could ceiling fix, then you know you won't 'get' the other holes.

biglaugh I have one, it will be used biggrin

He left the plugs in, confirmed it when I text him asking why he'd gone over them.
Think new holes seem to be the best route tbh. Unless someone can give me an alternative before 16:00!

in answer to the above, the Bulk mechanism is about 3 inches that sits at the top, so when they're installed they're almost flush to the top.

Well that sounds awful! 3 inches is like this big <---->

Not the answer you want, but just an FYI you can get "no drill" blinds now.

Yeah its amazing how often you cant see bugger all!

If you get it at just the right time, when most of it is dry, but the slug in the hole is still a touch damp, sometimes you can find it.

But otherwise the best option is to mark the window frame, skirting etc, so you can dig in the right place with an old screwdriver!

But yeah, for the sale just leave the blind off? New owners will properly want to fit different ones anyway.
