Post Run in Oil Change
Discussion
Had my GT for nearly a month and will in the next couple of weeks go over the 1000 miles (Hooray) and be able to start opening her up a bit. I'm planning on an oil \ filter change at 1000 miles (old school I know, but cant do any harm) Planning on getting it done at work (volunteer at Haynes Motor Museum) so it will be good for the workshop to work on a future classic rather than the run of the mill Iso Grifo's, classic Ferraris, Astons etc
plus I get it cheap.

Yeah I'm planning the same except I'll do it myself. Like you say its possibly overkill but I did read something a while ago about tests on engine oil that showed with new engines, metallic particles rose quite sharply for the first 750 - 1000 miles and then dropped off equally quickly. I intend to have my car a long time so to me it's worth doing just for my own satisfaction and peace of mind.
I'm about to do an oil change on my PE for the first time after having owned it for almost a year. I was amused to learn that the oil filters I still have sitting on a shelf for my previously owned 350Z (which, incidentally, can also be used for my X-Trail shed-to-pull-the-trailer) are also suitable for the A110. Thankfully I have access to two- and four-post lifts so it should be a walk in the park.

Are you planning an oil sample test? (if yours has more mileage would be interesting to see if there is any wear materials in the oil over my 1000 miles). Nice you have 2 & 4 post lifts my dream garage
Changed my oil today, and had already drained the whole lot into the big oil waste trolley, mixing it with lots of other waste oil, before it occurred to me that I might want to have an oil sample analysis done - so that's not happening then
In any case, I needed near as makes no difference the whole 5 liters of oil I bought to get the level to the full mark on the dipstick, as opposed to others reporting that they need less than 4.5 liters. Odd, isn't it?
