Found this little guy last night when out on the bike. At first thought he was just catching some heat. Decided to hook him with a cleft stick to put him in the verge but found he was dead, which was a shame. Perfectly intact but a little bit of blood seeping from the nose. Dropped by a bird of prey?

Very likely - the head doesn’t look quite the right shape and bops do tend to head strike snakes (for good and obvious reasons!)

Abbreviation for Bionic Overlord Pterodactyl? Can’t think what else it might stand for.

Not exactly cryptic crossword clue levels of difficulty.

If you think BOP is obvious good for you. Not an abbreviation I’ve seen before.

But in the context, it's bird of prey isn't it.

hehe

Google now puts AI answers at the top, and they're usually partly wrong.

I am very sorry and I not intend to cause any confusion frown I did think context gave this one away but maybe the photo in the middle of the sentence was the issue

But yes - bionic overlord pterodactyl of course

As is traditional Bionic Overlord Pterodactyl needs to become a band name.

On a related subject there’s a death metal band called “Hatebeak” and the vocals are done by a parrot SKRAAAAARK!

They’re on Spotify.

Spotted this one recently, never seen one before so no idea if it's a young one or fully grown (Er...dog for scale, and gate). Hot weather bringing them out.

"bop snake reference" didn't return anything either. So definitely niche.
